JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Believe it or not, September 1 is the first day of meteorological fall. Sunday also marks the beginning of dove and common snipe hunting seasons and the first day of pre-registration for managed waterfowl hunts.

Dove season runs through November 29, from a half hour before sunrise to sunset. Hunters with the proper permits are allowed to take 15 doves per day. Meanwhile, dove falconry season runs until December 16, with the same daily timeframe. Falconers have a daily limit of three doves, but that also includes any ducks, coots, or mergansers picked up by the falcon.

Snipe hunting season lasts December 16, with a daily limit of 8 birds for permitted hunters.

You can view the hunting season calendar at the Missouri Department of Conservation website .
