    Missouri wins world’s strongest waterlily competition

    ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Botanical Garden competed in a waterlily weigh-off against botanical gardens from around the world.

    After competing against 17 other participating botanical gardens, MoBot won first after successfully placing over 140 pounds on a waterlily.

    This city in the St. Louis region named among ‘fastest-growing’ in America

    MoBot used 20-pound sandbags and 10-pound weights to add weight on top of the waterlily’s surface, for a total of 142.1 pounds.

    Other competitors were the Denver Botanic Gardens, the New York Botanical Garden, and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in Scotland.
