ST. LOUIS – The sky will be filled with hot air balloons when the annual Great Forest Park Balloon Race returns to St. Louis.

The free event will take place on September 20 and 21 in Forest Park’s Emerson Central Fields. The race will welcome thousands of visitors as they watch more than 50 of the nation’s hot air balloon pilots float up in the sky.

The event will kick off Friday, September 20 with “The Glow,” a sequence that will showcase the illumination of the hot air balloons. The Glow will have food trucks, music, games, and provide the opportunity for viewers to have a chance to chat with pilots and crews.
