    Life sentence for 2022 double murder in Walnut Park West

    ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge handed down two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole to a man convicted for a 2022 double murder.

    According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, the murders happened on Feb. 28, 2022, in the city’s Walnut Park West neighborhood.

    Police found Thomas Anderson III on the front lawn of a residence in the 4800 block of Norwich Place around 8:05 p.m. Anderson had been shot in the head and was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 44.

    Around 9:30 a.m. the following morning, police found Tyler Vaughn approximately 100 feet away in the 4900 block of Goodfellow Boulevard with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Vaughn was declared dead at the scene. He was 32.

    Homicide detectives later arrested Deandre Walton for the murders.

    This past August, a St. Louis jury convicted Walton of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

    In addition to his life sentences, Walton also received two consecutive 15-year terms for each count of armed criminal action.
