BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Schnucks Markets Inc. recalled fresh ground beef at one of its Belleville locations again since July.

According to Schnucks, fresh ground beef produced and sold on September 15 with a sell-by date of September 16 has been recalled at the 800 Carlyle Avenue store.

In a news release, the grocery store said the ground beef may contain pieces of plastic. The affected products include 90/10 ground lean beef, 80/20 ground chuck, 80/20 ground beef, and 73/27 ground beef.

Customers who purchased the product should return the ground beef to the Carlyle Avenue store for a full refund or exchange. A Schnucks spokesperson said there have been no reported illnesses connected to the recall, and this is an isolated incident that does not affect other stores.

Schnucks recalled fresh ground beef at the same store location on July 30 following concerns the product contained plastic wrap.
