ST. LOUIS — A 60-year-old St. Louis man is facing serious charges after allegedly assaulting two neighbors with a metal bat and holding one captive in his home. Robert Anzalone was charged on September 8, 2024, with multiple felonies, including assault, armed criminal action, robbery, and kidnapping.

The incident occurred on September 7 when Anzalone reportedly accused a neighbor of stealing from him after she brought him food. According to court documents, Anzalone forced the woman to undress, struck her with a metal bat, and took items from her purse.

The situation escalated when the woman’s boyfriend arrived to help, with Anzalone allegedly attacking him as well. They got away and called police. Both victims were injured with bruises and cuts.

Anzalone claimed he was attacked when police came knocking at his door. He was arrested after police found the victims’ accounts more credible. He is being held without bond.
