RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Police are investigating an armed carjacking that targeted a 72-year-old man outside The Heights Recreation Center on Wednesday. The incident happened at around 5:50 p.m. in the center’s parking lot.

According to police, three young men approached the victim, initially asking to use his cell phone. The situation quickly escalated when one suspect brandished a handgun, demanding the victim’s wallet and car keys.

Shooter found not guilty for killing man who was looking for help

The suspects then fled in the victim’s red 2020 Buick Encore, bearing Missouri license plate NJ9 W5G, heading west on Dale Avenue towards Hanley Road.

Richmond Heights Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspects. Anyone with information should call police at (314) 655-3610 or leave an anonymous tip at (314) 655-3555.
