Hazelwood man dead after striking a rock bluff on I-255

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Hazelwood man was left dead after striking a rock bluff overnight Sunday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the single vehicle accident occurred a little after 3:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 255, east of Interstate 55, involving a Maserati Quattroporte.

The driver, Jihad Sumreen, 22, was travelling eastbound on I-255 when his Maserati drove off the roadway and struck a rock bluff, causing the vehicle to overturn. Sumreen was pronounced dead at the scene, MSHP says.

It is unknown if Sumreen was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash

I'm sorry to hear of his passing, but at 22 years old and driving a Maserati... How responsibly was he driving? Sad to stereotype, but that is not a typical car for the average 22-year old to be driving.
