Protagonist Cafe to open Antagonist Cafe in historic police station

ST. LOUIS – The Protagonist Cafe, known as a literary cafe in the city’s Soulard neighborhood, will be opening the Antagonist Cafe later this year.

The cafe has acquired the historic Third District Police Station located at 2727 S 12th Street. According to the cafe on Facebook , the building operated as a police station with seven jail cells from 1937 to the early 1990s.

The Protagonist Cafe also owns Pieces: The St. Louis Board Game Bar and Cafe also located in Soulard.
