    ST. LOUIS – While there are plenty of fall events in St. Louis for the extroverts who enjoy pushing there way through an overstimulating crowd.

    What about events for those who prefer a peaceful fall outing? Here’s where all the introverts can gather for an autumn day in St. Louis with fewer crowds to push your way through.

    STL Mug Market

    Talented local mug makers will be sharing their creations at Blueprint Cafe at High Low on Washington Avenue in St. Louis on Sunday, October 13. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., shop for handcrafted mugs from 36 different artists. Visit the STL Mug Market website for more information.

    Mississippi River Fall Foliage Tour

    Great Rivers & Routes offers a guided boat tour starting in Alton, Illinois, and runs along the Mississippi River. With seating limited to 22 people per tour, this is a great way to experience the beauty of a nice fall day with a loud, overstimulating crowd.

    The tours take place on Thursdays and Fridays through October and November for $35 per person. The boat will even include stops at Pere Marquette State Park and the various scenic views along the Mississippi River.

    St. Louis International Film Festival

    For the introverts who enjoy a good movie, the St. Louis International Film Festival returns for its 33rd year at The Hi-Pointe Theatre in off Gravois Road in St. Louis. Tickets go on sale in October for the November 7-17 screenings.

    Apple Picking at Braeutigam Orchards

    Visit Braeutigam Orchards , a family farm located in Belleville, Illinois, for a peaceful day of apple picking. With nine varieties of apples to pick from, fresh cider, and apple cider doughnuts, it’s an easy place to enjoy without the large crowds.

    You-Pick Sunflower Patch

    Wrap up the summer by visiting Rowe Crop Farm for the You-Pick Sunflower Patch. The farm has two acres of sunflowers ranging in various fall colors and even a corn maze with four levels of difficulty from beginner to expert.

    Missouri River Fall Colors Expedition

    For the more adventurous, outdoorsy introvert, experience the fullness of Missouri’s fall foliage while traveling down the Missouri River on canoe. From October 19 to October 20, Big Muddy Adventures will host an overnight expedition featuring camping and campfire meals. Tickets are on sale for $250 and attendees must be 18 years or older.

    Fall Color Train Ride Along Meramec River

    Hop on a train car and journey alongside the Meramec River with a scenic view of the Missouri foliage with Wabash Frisco & Pacific Railway. The train cars are pulled by vintage steam locomotives and take you on a 30-minute journey. While this event is sold out through October, tickets may become available with a cancellation; visit their website for more information .
