ST. LOUIS – Chilly out the door again Wednesday morning, though not as cool as Tuesday. Sunny, dry weather rolls on.

We will gradually see temperatures warm the rest of the week, with highs back into the 80s Thursday through Saturday. The warmest day will be Saturday, with highs almost 15 degrees above average.

Like last week, a weekend cold front will bring a change. That arrives early Sunday and brings some breezy conditions and opens the door to the chilliest air we’ve seen so far this fall season. What it doesn’t bring is rain.

High Sunday will be back in the 70s. Highs on Monday will only be in the 60s. A widespread frost will be likely early Tuesday as temperatures away from metro St. Louis fall into the 30s.

Hurricane Milton returned to Category 5 strength late Tuesday. Milton will be a major storm for the Florida Peninsula, bringing a catastrophic storm surge to the west coast and hurricane-force damaging winds across the entire peninsula. While storm surge is already being generated along the coast, storm landfall still looks like it will be late Wednesday into early Thursday.
