ST. LOUIS — Missouri is preparing for Halloween with a variety of spooky attractions across the state. Katie Blake from the Missouri Division of Tourism highlighted some notable haunted spots for thrill-seekers this October.

In St. Louis, the Lemp Mansion, built in the late 1860s, is rumored to be the city’s most haunted location. Visitors can take the “ Lemp Experience ” tour, exploring three floors of the mansion at night with infrared cameras.

Jefferson City offers the Missouri Penitentiary, featuring daytime history tours and nighttime ghost hunts. Options include 2-hour and 3-hour hunts, as well as an overnight investigation for the particularly brave.

Blake emphasized how Missouri’s rich history contributes to its unique Halloween celebrations, with impressive historical mansions and museums adding a haunted element to the festivities.
