ST. LOUIS – Charges have been filed against the suspected driver and mastermind from a drive-by shooting this past May in Midtown.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened on the evening of May 18 in the 3000 block of Olive Street, just north of Harris-Stowe State University’s campus.

Police said Kendrick M. Bobo, 19, was driving on Olive with three people in his vehicle. At one point, Bobo pulled alongside another vehicle and the people in Bobo’s car began firing into that second car.

The driver of the second car was uninjured. The front seat passenger suffered a gunshot wound to their leg. The backseat passenger, identified as Eddie Randle Jr., was struck and killed. Randle was 19.

Bobo eventually crashed into another car and injured the driver of that vehicle. Bobo and the three other occupants fled on foot after realizing their car was inoperable.

Police eventually arrested two brothers in connection with the investigation: Jordan D. Huddlen and Kevin Huddlen.

According to investigators, Jordan and another person shot into the other car and killed Randle. Kevin picked up the four suspects after the crash and took them from the area. At the time, he was serving supervised release on a federal drug conviction.

Police said Bobo admitted to driving the car that evening, and others have implicated Bobo as the person who planned the shooting.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Bobo with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, and three counts of armed criminal action.

Jordan Huddlen was previously charged with first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, two counts of first-degree assault, and four counts of armed criminal action.

Kevin Huddlen was previously charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, and four counts of hindering prosecution of a felony.
