    Man dies in rural Missouri highway crash

    PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. – A man died in rural Missouri highway crash Thursday afternoon in Phelps County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

    MSHP reports that Gabriel K. Peak, 22, of Steelville, Missouri, died in the crash. Next of kin have been notified.

    The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 63 near County Road 6220.

    Florissant teen’s death no longer declared a suicide

    A MSHP crash report states that Peak’s vehicle was southbound when it crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle heading in the opposite direction.

    Peak was pronounced dead at the scene. MSHP did not disclose whether the other driver involved suffered notable injuries.

    MSHP Troop I, which covers several Missouri counties just outside the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
