ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – A woman was arrested just after midnight Wednesday for reportedly driving drunk and rear-ending a Fairview Heights police vehicle while completing a traffic stop.

According to Fairview Heights Police , Elesia R. Golliday Brown, age not provided, from Alorton, Illinois, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after hitting the police vehicle.

Before the crash occurred, an officer had pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation, and the occupant was found to have an active arrest warrant. A backup police officer was called and arrived to help take the wanted person into custody.

Police body camera footage shows the second police vehicle had its emergency lights on while parked behind the first police car. Golliday rear-ended the second police vehicle as the wanted person was being placed into the other police car.

Authorities said no one was inside the rear police vehicle, and no injuries were reported.

Golliday was arrested after receiving a sobriety test, and authorities said she was later released from custody per pretrial release.
