ST. LOUIS — Within moments of a life-changing crisis, a group of strangers were there for the family of Ferguson Officer Travis Brown. And Officer Tamarris Bohannon. And Officer Michael Langsdorf. And Officer David Lee.

And that’s just a small portion of the list.

From meals to childcare, The St. Louis Police Wives Association is making sure loved ones of fallen and  seriously injured officers are getting the help they need. The group, comprised of about 40 women, is made up largely of wives of current and former police officers.

Most recently, they have been helping the families of fallen St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer David Lee, and Ferguson Police Officer Travis Brown, who remains hospitalized with a brain injury.

Fox 2’s Jasmine Huda spoke with STLPWA Past President Barbara O’Connor and Steve and Lisha Ledbetter, parents of injured SLMPD Officer Colin Ledbetter.
