St. Louis man arrested in Mississippi for Missouri homicide

WAYNESBORO, MISSISSIPPI – A St. Louis man was arrested Monday in Mississippi for the shooting death of two people in Missouri.

According to our affiliate station KOLR , Jeffrey Garrett, 40, allegedly shot and killed two people in Springfield, Missouri, on July 5 around 3 a.m.

Garrett has been charged for killing Jack Osborn, 46, and Melissa Smith, 44. He was arrested in Waynesboro, Mississippi, after Springfield Police received a tip regarding Garrett.

He is held with no bond and faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
