Pedestrian struck, killed Thursday evening in Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – Authorities are investigating after pedestrian was fatally struck Thursday evening in Collinsville.

The Collinsville Police Department has identified the victim as Regina Shaw, 59, of St. Louis.

The collision happened just before 6 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of East Church Street and Morrison Avenue.

Investigators say a driver struck Shaw, who was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Collinsville Police Department says the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.
