Sand Springs getting its own Whataburger in the fall

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — Sand Springs is getting its own Whataburger this fall.

Wednesday, the City of Sand Springs hinted at this on Facebook with a picture of the Whataburger logo.

Now, the City Council has made it official. The new Whataburger will be next to Tropical Smoothie.

This will be the city's first Whataburger and only the third outside the greater Tulsa area.

WAB Venture Inc., the franchisee, owns and operates Whataburger's across Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.

“We have witnessed the positive response from communities upon the arrival of a Whataburger, and we are excited to introduce the brand’s fresh, bold flavors to Sand Springs,” WAB Venture Director of Operations Joe Martin said. “We have carefully chosen a prime location and are planning a restaurant that will embody the spirit of Sand Springs and provide the community with a place they can call their own.”

The establishment will soon start a recruitment process. They're looking to hire managers, team leaders and team members. WAB said they'll likely need at least 100 people to operate the new restaurant.
