Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma hosts Emmy Award-winning actress Alfre Woodard

TULSA, Okla. — The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma welcomed a special guest during a fundraising event Saturday night.

The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma held their annual dinner party at their facility in north Tulsa. One of the guests who came was Emmy Award-winning actress Alfre Woodard.

Woodard has played in popular movies and TV-shows such as "12 Years a Slave" and "Desperate Housewives."

FOX23 spoke with Woodard about how important it is to support local food banks.

"What we're doing is, we're celebrating the fact that we're coming to the aid of our neighbors, all of the funds and all of the resources, not only monetary, but people that show up. Everybody can come on down because they need people working," said Woodard.
