    2024-05-20

TULSA, Okla. — Beer, music, art and conservation. Philbrook Museum put on a boutique beer tasting event on Sunday with proceeds going towards an outdoor conservation nonprofit.

The second annual Lager Land Festival was held Sunday at Philbrook, with the proceeds supporting the nonprofit Conservation Coalition of Oklahoma.

At the event, people could find 12 breweries, non-alcoholic options, several food trucks, live music and vendors.

Cristen Burdell, the revenue projects producer at Philbrook said around 500 people showed up to the event.

“It is a boutique tasting so we do keep numbers kind of small so people can show up and really enjoy, get to talk to the brewers, get to learn a little bit more about what they like about different beers, and learn more about their palate,” Burdell said.

Burdell said they’re planning to hold the event again next year.

Burdell also said the next upcoming event at Philbrook is a showing of “Napolean Dynamite.”

“The next big event is ‘Napolean Dynamite,’ which is happening on Friday night, we’ll have some great vendors out in the garden, it’s just a wonderful night to kind of hang out, watch a movie that you’ve probably see a few times before, have a little dance off, have a costume contest, we like to keep things fun in the Philbrook Garden,” Burdell said.
