Tulsa non-profit approved as refuge resettlement agency

TULSA, Okla. — Rising Village received government approval to become a refugee resettlement agency and will receive refugee cases from around the world.

Rising Village says in 2023, 17.3 million people were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in another country. Sometimes those people are placed by refuge resettlement agencies.

Rising Village has received approval to become one of these agencies through a partnership with World Relief as an affiliate resettlement partner.

The non-profit will assist refugees in settling in Tulsa and surrounding areas and work closely with the community to provide housing, jobs and cultural orientation.

“We could not be more excited to see this partnership between Rising Village and World Relief made official," said Eric Costanzo, executive director of Rising Village in a press release. "We believe this will be a tremendous leap forward for the future success of our organization and for refugee resettlement in Tulsa as we continue to help the marginalized become full participants in our community."

Rising Village also serves refugees and immigrant communities through prenatal classes, ESL programming and sewing classes.
