    Man arrested for downtown Tulsa crime spree after stealing a machete

    TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said K9 units apprehended a man who assaulted a Home Depot employee with a machete on Tuesday.

    Police said officers responded to a call at the Home Depot near East 9th Street and South Elgin Avenue around 2:20 p.m. about a man who had stolen a machete.

    An employee said Mark Goodman unwrapped the machete and drank an energy drink from the store cooler without paying. Goodman swung the machete at the employee and left the store.

    Police said Goodman walked to a nearby liquor store where Officers found him with the machete and not listening to commands to drop it.

    Goodman started to grab beer in the liquor store and officers tasered him, but to no effect.

    Police said K9 units apprehended Goodman and allowed officers to take him into custody without further incident. Goodman was treated for his injuries and booked into the Tulsa County jail.

    Goodman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, threatening a violent act, resisting arrest, obstruction, two counts of larceny from a retailer, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.
