TULSA, Okla. — The former volunteer treasurer of a local LGBT advocacy group has been charged with embezzlement after being accused of stealing over $130,000 from the group.

According to an affidavit, Paul Allen volunteered as the treasurer for Oklahomans for Equality (OKEQ).

FOX23 told you back in February when the organization announced a volunteer was suspected of embezzling at least $130,000 from the group.

OKEQ had to hold an emergency fundraiser to keep themselves from closing.

They did reach their goal of raising $100,000.

Allen was arrested on Saturday and is charged with embezzlement.
