    Tulsa woman sentenced to more than 24 years for drug conspiracy

    TULSA, OKLA. — A Tulsa woman, Shelly McElroy, was sentenced to over 24 years followed by five years of supervised release for drug conspiracy.

    According to court documents, in October 2023, conducted a traffic stop due to an expired tag.

    McElroy was driving without a valid driver's license and insurance.

    During the traffic stop, officers saw a large box that contained small baggies of white crystal substance.

    During the investigation, McElroy sped off and after a short chase, she was detained.

    Officers found drug paraphernalia and discovered that she had thrown the box out of the vehicle during the chase.

    Law enforcement later found out that McElroy had more than 110 grams of fentanyl and more than 2,760 grams of meth.

    She will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

    McElroy's cousin and co-defendant, Gary McElroy, was in the vehicle during the traffic stop and was also arrested after the chase. He pled guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.
