Haskell restaurant sending hurricane relief supplies to North Carolina

HASKELL, Okla. — The Grazin Table, a restaurant in Haskell, is collecting donations for hurricane relief in North Carolina.

Amanda Saxon, the owner of Grazin Table in Haskell, explained why they’re sending the help.

“Its just devastated us all. Its heartbreaking, the videos, everything,” said Saxon.

Saxon said people with Cane Creek Distillery already drove hundreds of supplies to a North Carolina church and they’re going back next weekend. She said this time, they will have all the help they can get.

“We’re a community that helps each other so hopefully they’ll get on board and help,” said Saxon.

People have already been bringing supplies by the grazing table but Saxon says they need more.

“We need generators, tents, canopies, propane bottles, charcoal batteries and flashlights,” said Saxon.

With hurricane Milton hitting Florida, there are more people in need than ever. Saxon said she can’t just sit by and watch.

“We’re gonna start with Asheville, then if donations keep coming in we’ll find somebody going down to Florida to give it to them,” said Saxon.

Saxon said she doesn’t know anyone in Asheville she just knows they need help. She does have friends in Florida and watching what’s happening to their hometown is devastating.

“I would love to gather as many products as we can and take 'em down there saying 'this is from Oklahoma',” said Saxon.

She’s urging anyone who can to donate supplies so they can send them to people in need.

There is a list of needed supplies on The Grazin Tables Facebook, along with a Cash App. You can find the post by clicking here .

You can drop items off at The Grazing Table or Broken Arrow Elks Lodge. People with Cane Creek Distillery will be taking the donations to Ashville on the 19th.
