2 stolen car suspects found allegedly trafficking meth, TPD says

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police said two stolen car suspects were also allegedly trafficking meth.

According to TPD, camera systems notified officers that a stolen Hyundai was seen in near Admiral and Sheridan on Friday around 2 p.m.

After searching the area, officers said they located the stolen Hyundai parked at a motel nearby.

Upon investigation, two suspects — later identified as Rodney Bias and Briana Cruz — were found to have parked the car and gone into a room at the motel.

Bias was detained by officers when he left the room to go to the car.

Bias allegedly stated he purchased the car from a friend for a really good deal. He allegedly said his friend offered him the $45,000 car for only $7,500 and only asked that Bias put $700 down.

According to officers, Bias said he thought it was suspicious the Hyundai didn't have a title and he had been trying to figure out who he could call to see if the car was stolen, though he hadn't thought to call the police.

Cruz was found in the motel room alongside the key fob to the Hyundai. Officers said she agreed to a search of the room where officers stated they found more than an ounce of methamphetamine between the mattresses.
