Mexia man killed in crash with 18-wheeler

Mexia, Tx ( FOX 44 ) – The Department of Public Safety reports a 19-year-old Mexia man was killed Thursday afternoon in a collision with an 18-wheeler in Limestone County.

DPS Sgt. Ryan Howard said Damian Molina, Jr was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on US Highway 84 near FM 2705 about four miles west of Mexia.

Sgt Howard said the crash occurred about 4:00 p.m. Thursday as a truck tractor semi-trailer going east had slowed, preparing to make a left turn, Molina was the driver of a Ford Mustang also going east when it crashed into the rear of the trailer.

DPS reminded drivers to stay focused and stay safe when driving. Distracted driving can lead to a car crash; whether it’s texting, eating, or adjusting the radio, taking your attention off of the road for just a second can potentially put you in danger.
