Home sales in San Diego County rise for third month in a row

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — April sales of single-family homes in San Diego County jumped more than 5% compared to March.

The Greater San Diego Association of Realtors said last month’s single-family home sales were 6% over April 2023, while home sales are up only about a percent year-to-date.

The following zip codes had the most single-family home sales in April, according to the real estate association:

• 92028 (Fallbrook) with 50
• 9064 (Poway) with 39
• 92009 (Carlsbad SE) and 92057 (Oceanside North), both with 32
• 29026 (Escondido North) and 92040 (Lakeside), both with 26

Attached properties (condominiums and townhomes) dropped 2% month-over-month, but is only down about 1% from a year ago, the report said.

The median price of a single family home in April was $1.1 million, while attached properties averaged at $685,000, according to the report.

“Our Association is excited to see the increase of detached home sales in a year-over-year comparison to 2023,” SDAR President Spencer Lugash said. “As always, we believe that the desire to live in San Diego County is high, and both the increase in home sales and the high sale prices of these homes are indicative of that demand.”

Foxhill Estate, located at 7007 Country Club Drive in La Jolla, was the most expensive single-family property sold last month, as well as the priciest home ever sold in the coastal community . The property was previously owned by hotel developer Doug Manchester , a former owner of The San Diego Union-Tribune.
