SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — After four tropical storms formed in the Eastern Pacific south of Southern Baja this week, one of those cyclones is expected to send a strong south swell to Southern California beaches.

Tropical Storm Emilia is 565 WSW from the southern tip of Baja California and is heading northwest at 18 miles per hour as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The storm is gradually weakening in the next few days but should send fun surfing conditions, especially to south facing beaches starting Thursday.

The tropical SSE swell looks to peak Friday but onshore windy afternoon conditions might create some bumps. Mornings with light winds will be the time to target.

San Diego County beaches will see some increased surf with wave heights forecasted to reach 4 to 6 feet for Friday, but popular tropic spots in Orange County to Ventura County will get the best conditions this weekend.

In other weather news, cooler and slightly less humid Thursday with weekend heat building. There will be another chance of thunderstorms in the mountains and deserts starting Saturday.

Morning fog will lower visibility in some coastal areas the next few days but pokes of sunshine by the afternoon.
