Second annual ‘Taste of Barrio Logan’ to be held on Sept. 8

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The annual Taste of Barrio Logan food tour returns next month, introducing San Diegans to the neighborhood’s unique culture and community.

The event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Sept. 8 from noon to 3 p.m., will showcase more than 35 local vendors. Also referred to as Sabor Del Barrio, the food tour will include a little bit of everything for everyone, ranging from tacos and beer to coffee and pastries.

Those ages 21 and over can also try samples of alcoholic beverages from Thorn Street Brewery, Jaguar Paw, Liberty Calls Distillery and more.

In addition to local establishments, there will be a designated area for street food vendors and a lowrider showcase, all meant to give people a taste of Chicano culture. Ticketholders will also gain free entry to local art and cultural spaces in Barrio Logan, including the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center and the Atheneum at Bread and Salt.

Sabor Del Barrio is a self-guided food tour, meaning people can walk, bike or take the Trolley to explore the different offerings throughout the neighborhood.
