FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The woman who died after a Telsa collided with a Dinuba driver near Coalinga has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

According to California Highway Patrol, early morning on Aug. 10 a Tesla from Vista was traveling southbound on Highway 269 just north of Ford Avenue as a Dinuba driver was traveling in the opposite direction.

For an unknown reason, investigators say the Tesla veered directly in front of the other driver’s path. The truck collided with the right front passenger side of the Tesla.

As a result, the female passenger of the Tesla died on scene whereas the driver sustained minor injuries. The other driver sustained a leg injury.

The coroner’s office identified the passenger of the Tesla as 27-year-old Tiffany Boone of Vista, Calif. in San Diego County.

Detectives are actively working to determine the cause of the collision.
