SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego will experience mild weather the rest of the week with minor day-to-day changes, but a battle of a low pressure and a high-pressure pattern will battle it out early next week.

Daytime highs Friday will be just slightly above seasonal averages with upper-70s for the coast, low 90s for inland valleys, mid 80s in the mountains and near 110 degrees for the deserts.

After a foggy morning inland and cloudy morning for the coast, Thursday afternoon featured sunshine and warm temperatures everywhere.

The marine layer will rebuild Thursday evening and could result in some patchy fog and partly cloudy skies for early Friday morning.

There’s a toss up for early to mid-next week. If a low-pressure trough over the Pacific Ocean dominates, it could keep us slightly cooler and drier; however, if a ridge of high pressure near the Four Corners region prevails, it could mean hotter temperatures and chances for mountain monsoon storms.
