    Toddler drowns in backyard pool in Point Loma

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A two-year-old drowned Wednesday in a backyard pool of a home in Point Loma, authorities said.

    The drowning occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of Chatsworth Blvd., the San Diego Police Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI.

    When first responders arrived, they attempted lifesaving efforts, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

    SDPD’s Child Abuse Unit is investigating the incident.

    No other details have been provided by police at this time.
