SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Monday proved to be much warmer than the weekend especially for inland valleys and it’s going to warm up for one more day.

A ridge of high pressure over Texas has been expanding west resulting in hotter weather for the start of this weekend. It will continue to build for Tuesday, the hottest day of our seven-day forecast.

Tuesday’s daytime highs will top out in the low 80s for the coast, mid-90s for inland valleys, with low 90s for mountains and around 112 degrees for deserts.

After this brief warmup, a low-pressure trough will knock out our high-pressure pattern and usher in some cooler, windier and a bit cloudier into the weekend.
