RAMONA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man and a teenager were arrested Wednesday after a robbery earlier this month at a gas station in Ramona, authorities said.

The suspects have been identified as Jahziel Hayes, 18, and a 16-year-old, whose name was not released due to them being a minor, Sgt. Sean Gallagher with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The robbery occurred Aug. 10 shortly before 3:30 a.m. at the Stars gas station in the 1900 block of Main Street.

An employee was assaulted, and several suspects stole items from the business, according to law enforcement.

The investigation resulted in deputies serving a search warrant to a home in the 1700 block of San Vicente Road, where authorities arrested both suspects without incident.

“Deputies located items connected to the robbery while searching the home. They also found two privately manufactured firearms, commonly referred to as ghost guns,” Gallagher said.

Both Hayes and the teenager were arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of an illegal firearm. Hayes was booked into the San Diego Central Jail, while the teenager was booked into juvenile hall.
