Things to do in San Diego area this Labor Day weekend

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Labor Day weekend is here, and it’s time to get out and about!

From music to movies to amusement parks, here are four things to do in the San Diego area:

SATURDAY

The Sandlot: 30th Anniversary with the Cast
6 p.m.
The Magnolia, 210 East Main Street in El Cajon
“You’re killing me, Smalls!” Watch “The Sandlot” with the cast of the iconic baseball film, followed by a Q&A with actors Tom Guiry (Smalls), Chauncey Leopardi (Squints), Marty York (Yeah-Yeah) and possibly others. The event is open to anyone five years of age or older.

SUNDAY

Ukrainian Festival 2024
11 a.m.- 5 p.m.
House of Ukraine at Balboa Park, 667 Pan American West Road
Enjoy Ukranian food like potato and cheese varenyky with sour cream and fried onions, kovbasa, salads, sweet treats and watermelon. The Lawn Program will offer entertainment performances from Chervona Kalyna Dance Group (Los Angeles), U3Zub, Balboa Park Dancers, Iaroslava Caracosa, Ridna Shkola students and more.

The Beach Boys: Endless Summer Gold
7:30 p.m.
The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
The Beach Boys, known for their popularity in the 1960s with their soothing harmonies and California culture, are still providing fans with their classic music. Also, joining the group for a special appearance will be actor, producer, and musician John Stamos.

MONDAY

SeaWorld San Diego beer and barbeque festival
SeaWorld San Diego, 500 Sea World Dr.
Those longing for some barbeque and beer on Labor Day weekend can do so at SeaWorld San Diego. Guests can choose from 100 craft beers and a variety of smoked and grilled favorites at the event.
