    Two arrested in Oceanside baseball bat attacks

    OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two men suspected in violent attacks that left multiple people injured have been found and taken into custody, according to the Oceanside Police Department Wednesday.

    Around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, the department received reports about a violent altercation involving several suspects in the 1400 block of North Harbor Drive.

    Witnesses told police two individuals with bandanas covering their faces were seen attacking several men with baseball bats. The suspects reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived, authorities said.

    Witnesses told police the suspects seemed to be randomly initiating fights with people before attacking them with the baseball bats.

    Upon their arrival, first responders found two victims suffering from head trauma, according to an earlier release . The victims were taken to a hospital.

    A separate incident left two other victims being assaulted in the same area in a similar manner, according to police. All victims suffered serious injuries, including head lacerations and one with a facial fracture.

    A release by the department said detectives found two of the suspects in Vista Tuesday. They were identified as Jorge L. Perez of Vista and Pablo F. Gonzalez of Oceanside.

    Both of them were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Vista Detention Facility, authorities said. Both face multiple felony charges and Perez is facing an attempted murder charge. They will be arraigned in court Thursday.

    Oceanside Police Department said it is trying to find the three remaining suspects. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police.
