When will daylight saving time end in 2024?

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Since daylight saving time started Sunday, March 10, clocks were turned forward one hour, giving us more light in the evening and less in the morning.

You may have already noticed the days getting shorter. People working regular 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. shifts will start noticing a shift in daylight during their commutes to and from work.

If you are waiting to gain an extra hour of sleep, there are only two months left until daylight saving time ends on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 a.m.

This means clocks will be turned backward an hour to 1 a.m. instead, resulting in sunrise and sunset being an hour earlier than the day before. It also means we see more light in the morning and less light in the evening.

Sunrise on Nov. 3 will be at 6:08 a.m. and the sun will set at 4:55 p.m., giving San Diegans and other people on the West Coast about 10 hours and 46 minutes of daylight.

After that, the sunrises will slowly happen later and later while the sun starts setting earlier each day.

Fortunately, you still have some time to enjoy later sunsets in San Diego. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Sept. 10 is the last chance to see a sunset after 7 p.m. in San Diego.
