SAN YSIDRO, Calif (FOX 5/KUSI) — A SWAT standoff in San Ysidro ended with the suspect turning himself in to police after a neighbor dispute turned violent Sunday.

San Diego Police and SWAT responded to reports of a shooting Sunday afternoon at a home in the 3900 block of Via Del Bardo in San Ysidro.

Officers say a man in his 30s was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm after a reported dispute between neighbors that was allegedly over trash.

The suspect — described as a man in his 70s — fired one round at his neighbor, then went back into his home where he was when officers arrived, San Diego Police report.

Police called in SWAT and called for the suspect, who eventually came out and was taken into custody without incident, according to the police department.

Residents in the area were told to shelter in place while the incident played out.
