    Coast Guard medically evacuates man from fishing vessel near San Diego

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Coast Guard helicopter crew medically evacuated a 74-year-old man off a fishing vessel Wednesday morning, according to a release from USCG.

    According to USCG, the man was onboard the fishing vessel Poseidon about 35 miles west of San Diego when Coast Guard watchstanders from the Joint Harbor Operations Center reported he started having consistent chest pains.

    The man was medically evacuated via an Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter around 6:10 a.m., USCG said.

    The man arrived at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla around 10 a.m., according to USCG.
