    Coast Guard medevacs man from fishing vessel near San Clemente Island

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 32-year-old man was medically evacuated off a commercial fishing vessel by a Coast Guard helicopter aircrew Wednesday, according to USCG Thursday.

    The man was on the fishing vessel “Legacy” approximately one mile west of San Clemente Island when he reportedly started experiencing symptoms of a seizure, a release by USCG stated.

    USCG watchstanders from the San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center received notification from the Legacy about his condition around 4:15 p.m., officials said.

    An Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew was launched and took the man from the vessel around 5:10 p.m., according to USCG.

    The man was transferred to emergency medical services at USCG Sector San Diego around 6:40 p.m., the release said.
