    Man arrested in attempted kidnapping near Coronado Public Library

    CORONADO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was arrested Friday afternoon after Coronado Police said he attempted to kidnap a teenage girl near the library.

    The city of Coronado Police Department said a 16-year-old girl called 9-1-1 Friday around 1:30 p.m. to report an attempted kidnapping near the Coronado Public Library.

    According to police, the girl was waiting for the bus when a man parked nearby and demanded that she get into his car.

    When the girl refused, the man grabbed her arm but she was able to escape and call 9-1-1, according to police.

    Officers were able to find the suspect in his car about a block away, police stated.

    The suspect was identified by police as Nan Wang, 45, of Trona, Calif. He was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and annoying or molesting a child. Wang has been taken to San Diego Central Jail, according to Coronado Police.
