Woman seriously injured after being hit by truck in Midway District

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A woman was hit by a vehicle in the Midway District early Friday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The traffic incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. when a 65-year-old man driving a white Ford F-250 pickup truck struck a female pedestrian in the 3800 block of Camino Del Rio West. Police said the collision took place as the pedestrian was standing in the northbound left lane, outside of a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where medical staff confirmed her injuries to be serious but non-life-threatening. Her identity has not been released at this time.

Authorities report that the driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by Traffic Division officers.
