    FBI San Diego seeks nominations for 2025 Citizens Academy

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Federal Bureau of Investigations in San Diego is looking for interested individuals wanting to gain insight into the services and day-to-day operation of its field office.

    FBI San Diego is accepting applications and nominations for this year’s Citizens Academy, an eight-week program meant to provide people with a better understanding of the role of federal law enforcement.

    The classes will be held at the FBI field office Tuesdays starting March 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. The program concludes on Apr. 21.

    Candidates are nominated by current employees, program graduates and community leaders, or applicants can nominate themselves. Participants are selected by the special agent in charge of the San Diego field office, according to the FBI website .

    In order to be eligible for the program, candidates must be a recognized business, religious or community leader, live and/or work within the jurisdiction of the San Diego field office, be at least 21 years old, consent to a background investigation and agree to attend all sessions with no more than two excused absences.     The deadline for submissions is Nov. 17.
