SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — There’s a proposal under consideration by the San Diego City Council promoting equal access to affordable groceries.

On Thursday, council President Sean Elo-Rivera and councilmember Marni von Wilpert will introduce legislation about price fairness at the grocery amid the digital age. They will be speaking from the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center.

Essentially, they will be discussing accessibility to digital coupons and smart phone apps. The council is looking to make it easier for seniors and those without internet access to get ahold of these coupons by making it a requirement that paper versions must also be available.

This also goes for those who may have a language barrier.
