SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — It’s finally feeling like the fall season in Southern California as we get a dip in afternoon daytime highs for the next few days and chances of light rain.

Monday started with some patchy fog and coastal clouds extending a few miles inland. The marine layer looks to deepen overnight into Tuesday and Wednesday with more coverage into our inland valleys to start off the next few days.

Temperatures will continue on the cooler side this week with upper 60s at the coast, mid-70s for inland valleys, low- to mid-70’s for mountains and upper 80s to low 90s for the deserts.

A low pressure system from the gulf of Alaska will continue on a path towards the West Coast Thursday and Friday.

We could get some light rain — generally less than a tenth inch for most — from this sometime Thursday, but the timing is still unclear.

Areas of drizzle leading up to the weekend are possible. Breezy westerly winds could bring gusts anywhere from 45 to 50 miles per hour for mountains and deserts.

For the weekend, we are tracking our first Santa Ana wind event of the season. Models currently suggest it will be a light-to-moderate event. Warmer temperatures are on tap for the weekend into early next week.
