SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — After some areas got a light spritz of rain, San Diego County will transition into warmer, drier and windier weather for the weekend into early next week.

Insignificant amounts of rain fell in the last 24 hours. Some areas like Santee picked up a mere one-hundredth of an inch of rain while Palomar Mountain ended the morning with 0.15″.

Beginning Friday afternoon, northerly winds will increase, prompting several Red Flag Warnings for the Inland Empire and San Bernardino County. While it isn’t going to be extremely hot, it is dry and winds will become an issue if a fire were to spark.

Winds will be strong locally but as of now they look to stay below advisory level.

Temperatures will warm up into the weekend with beaches back in the mid 70’s Saturday and Sunday with mid- to upper-80s for inland valleys, mid-70s for the mountains and upper 80s for the desert.

The warming trend continues into Wednesday.
