Kentucky Blood Center offerings Taylor Swift tickets, t-shirts for donors

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The Kentucky Blood Center is calling on the power of Taylor Swift to get life-saving blood into the bank.

The blood center is awarding a lucky donor with two tickets to Taylor Swift’s final U.S. Eras Tour show on Nov. 3 in Indianapolis. Donors who give blood between May 28 and June 29 at any Kentucky Blood Center location will be entered to win tickets and a $500 Visa gift card to help with travel.

“Showing our appreciation of donors is always at the top of our mind, so we are particularly excited to give a local lifesaver the opportunity of a lifetime to see an icon at the pinnacle of her career,” said Mandy Brajuha, vice of external relations at KBC. “It takes good fortune to get your hands on tickets like these, but it only takes 45 minutes to save local lives and potentially go to a concert on us.”

All donors will receive a Taylor Swift-inspired t-shirt, along with a friendship bracelet if they donate on Mondays or Tuesdays, according to a news release.

Kentucky Blood Center said donations historically dwindle during the summer while the need for transfusions often increases.

Interested donors can visit the Kentucky Blood Center website or call 800-775-2522 to schedule an appointment. Mobile drive locations can also be found online .

Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo ID, and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org .
