    Man charged with attempted murder arrested in Estill County

    ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Madison County man accused of trying to kill his girlfriend was found by law enforcement on Tuesday.

    Around 7:30 p.m. on July 27, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) posted on Facebook that deputies were searching for 35-year-old Richard Clark , warning he may have been armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

    Clark was charged with attempted murder, first-degree strangulation, and first-degree wanton endangerment, per the MCSO.

    Court documents showed that around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Clark was stopped by officers of the Irvine police department. Clark was allegedly driving a stolen car from Lincoln’s Towing with no license and was arrested.

    According to his arrest citation, Clark was charged with:

    • Rear license not illuminated
    • Failure to wear a seat belts
    • License to be in possession
    • Failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense
    • Failure to produce an insurance card
    • No registration receipt
    • No registration plates

    Clark was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
